Learn about the 2018 Christmas Service Project: Angel Tree

God has placed us in our city to be a lighthouse for Christ. To be most effective we must partner with other like-minded churches, agencies and ministries. We seek to earn the right to proclaim the gospel through building relationships, meeting needs and displaying love. We partner with several ministries throughout the Brandywine Valley in various ways including financial support, service opportunities, training and events. Prayerfully consider serving with one of our ministry partners.

Listed below are some of the local organizations with which we routinely partner. Click on the name of the organization to learn more about them through their websites.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

The 2018 Thanksgiving Food Drive has ended. Thank you to everyone who donated non-perishable food to the 2018 Sunday Breakfast Mission Thanksgiving Food Drive. Each weekly food collection was brought to the Sunday Breakfast Mission filling a car or at least half of a cargo van. Thank you for your generosity in helping our neighbors in need.

Christmas Service Project: Angel Tree

This year our Christmas service project is Angel Tree, sponsored by Prison Fellowship. This ministry serves children who have a parent incarcerated during the holidays. You must register to participate in this program. You can participate in one of the following ways:

  • Purchase two gifts (one clothing and one toy) for the child you selected (due December 2)
  • Bake cookies for the Angel Tree Party (due December 9)
  • Volunteer at the Angel Tree Party on Saturday, December 15

Register at the table in the Lobby on Sunday mornings beginning November 4. You will receive details about the child’s wish list upon registering; gifts should be tailored for each child. Gifts are due back to the church by Sunday, December 2 (you may also return the gifts earlier). There are approximately 100 Angels to adopt this year.

The Angel Tree Christmas party will be held on Saturday, December 15, 12–2 p.m. at Hanover Presbyterian Church (1801 N. Jefferson Street, Wilmington). If you would like to be a helper at the party, call the church office at 302-478-4255 or sign up in the Lobby. Greeters, servers, and people to transport the gifts are all needed at the party.
